Up a Hill!

4 miles wasn't too bad on Tuesday...I completed it at least!

I ran 3 miles today. I ran down Midvale to the East Falls Station and then turned around and ran up the hill home. I didn't stop and I finished. It actually felt good on my calfs, like I was stretching them out.

Starting from the Bottom

I haven't been running for a while and I ran two miles today....and it was rough!! I was hot and I had to talk myself into finishing but I did completed it. I just image myself crossing the finish line at the marathon and that keeps me going. Even though this was only two miles I am excited I pushed myself to finish when I was tired, that makes me believe I will be able to find enough energy to complete the other runs and the marathon even when I feel exhausted.

My training officially starts on June 30th....two weeks from now. I have to be able to run three mile by then, which I hoping won't be a problem.

4.6 Mile Route

Today my run went very well, I think I do better running in a circle instead of going a distance stopping and turning around.

I started at my house, ran to Ridge Ave and Roxborough Ave (2.5 miles), down Ridge Ave, along Kelly Dr to Midvale Ave (2.1 miles/4.6 miles), and at that point I stopped because I hate running up big hills, so I walked up Midvale Ave (1.0 mile/5.6 miles) and started running again at Fox St and Midvale Ave, I finished by running to Morris St and Coulter (0.6 mile/6.2 miles)

All and all I ran 4.6 miles and I walked/ran 6.2 miles, which is really great because I haven't really ran more than 3 miles lately.

October 19th is the Day!

"The body does not want you to do this. As you run, it tells you to stop but the mind must be strong. You always go too far for your body. You must handle the pain with strategy…It is not age; it is not diet. It is the will to succeed."
-Jacqueline Gareau, 1980 Boston Marathon Champ
